August Already??!!

The volunteers and participants have really started to build momentum in connecting and celebrating over the last few months. With easing of covid-19 restrictions nationally and confidence building locally this has effecting how the community feel's and thinks and, what we do...

Level 2 Complimentary Therapy

There was a really strong demand to dive straight into a learning and developing opportunity. So we did!! Partnering with the awesome Divine Beauty Course Leader and Leeds City College, Nine out of our Twelve participants who signed up for the the Level 2 Complimentary Therapy course completed it with a nationally recognised qualification. Well done to everyone who took part in this, I hope you are proud of your achievements!

On top of the qualifications gained there was also constructive shift in all areas we aim as a project to positively impact on. Whilst we come together as a group to create connections and celebrate culture; learning, supporting, developing and enabling is always at the heart of this through our conversations, information and community! Check out some of the web's completed by the participants that show the journey they have been on in these last few weeks, I'm sure you'll agree they're pretty impressive:

New Volunteers

We have also over the last few months had a steady trickle of local residents who have actively joined the volunteer team and are almost finished with their induction training. By the next update they will have have been rewarded with their Volunteer Certificates and will be actively contributing to our planned activity which we hope they enjoy and we are certainly grateful of! Speaking of which....

Community Rounders

The BLC team will be out in Alexandra Park next Thursday 26th August between 1 - 3 and are inviting you to join us for a whole Community game of Rounders. We are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather (but hopefully not too hot) and looking foward to you coming along and joining in. This is a game open to all, Children and Adults. Don't worry if you've not played before - it's fun to give it a go and easy to learn the rules of. At the same time you can find out more about our project and other services that are available through Better Leeds Communities

See you there!
